Day 2 – Rain on the Horizon
Aug 1st

The forecasters called for rain to be present on Saturday and they weren’t wrong on that count.
This system came through at around midday and was expected expected to be around for most of the afternoon, but by some miracle the wind turned and blew the system away from the lakes, allowing the SCR Championships to continue on as scheduled. When all was said and done, the daytime event wrapped up at 5:30pm.
Next up – the Fayetteville Night Jam which will feature some slaloming and tricking under the lights to showcase out sport to the general public. A great event and it helps a great cause, Restore Humanity who help to set up orphanages in Africa. I’ll have some reportage on the event a little later – take care!
SCR Juniors Day – Illustrated

During the course of the Junior Awards night at the South Central Regional Championships, pictures taken of the event are shown on a large projector screen. For those want to see them again, I managed to snag the SD Card and upload them to a new slide show below – enjoy!
Juniors Day at the SCR’s
Jul 31st
By tradition the first day for the South Central Regional Championships is dedicated to the juniors and they certainly did their best to entertain. The future of the sport is alive and looking bright here in the South Central.
Performance of the day thus far so far as top performance belongs to Steven Island with a score of 1 @11.25m but Chase Scott’s slalom run on two skis certainly raised some eyebrows.
Still plenty of skiing to go before the end of the tournament and I look forward to announcing every minute…

During the course of the SCR Championships, I’ll be attempting to put up a few photos that will show the people involved. Here’s something I cobbled together at short notice – enjoy.

After having no coffee on the first flight to ORD (no hot water apparently) and being almost comatose as a result on the next flight to XNA, the best part of the day’s travel came – the arrival to the venue and a great ski site that is Cedar Creek.
It was certainly great to make the return back to the SCR Championships and I appreciate the kind invite Roger Boskus has extended to me once again, but more than that its great to see so many of the great people that make up the heart and soul of tournament waterskiing in the South Central Region.
Weather is a little overcast right now, but it get better as the event progresses starting tomorrow. Despite the overcast and rainy conditions, there were plenty of people willing to go out and get a practice set in, wether it be slalom, trick or jump.
During the course of the event, I will try to keep my twitter followers updated with scores. The twitter address is http://www.twitter.com/tonylightfoot.

After a tearful farewell to my wife (Linda) and my Kids (Eli and Mariel), it was time to offically start my adventure that would take to two water ski tournaments in the space of two weeks.
First up is the South Central Regional Championships in Fayetteville,Arkansas. Roger Boskus and his crew always put on a top-notch tournament there at his Cedar Creek Lakes facility and I thank him once again for the kind invite to announce for that tournament.
Packed a fair amount of electronics which always get the attention of the TSA. No worries though.
Looking forward to this tournament big time and then the big kahuna – The World’s which I leave to go straight from the SCR’s on Sunday.
Between now and then, I hope to be blogging on a regular basis and be posting some video as well – maybe as early as Chicago O’Hare – stay tuned!!
